The real situation with coronavirus in Lugansk and the region

The coronavirus pandemic has been declared worldwide. More than 1.6 million people have already become victims of the COVID-19 virus. Each new day brings news of the rise in infections around the world. The self-proclaimed "Luhansk People's Republic" did not stand aside either. The high alert regime was introduced in the “LPR” back in mid-March, when there were no infected people in Luhansk yet.

Is there a coronavirus in the Lugansk region and the "LPR"

In the Lugansk region, the first suspicion of coronavirus was recorded on March 14, but the diagnosis was not confirmed. But already on March 28, the first case of the disease was reported in the region. Before that, it was only about the prevention of the prevention of the virus on the territory of the "LPR". During this time, the republic was able to prepare for the fight against the epidemic: hospitals were prepared and re-equipped, test systems and the necessary protective equipment were received from Rospotrebnadzor of the Russian Federation.

"According to the World Health Organization (WHO), as of April 11, the number of people infected with coronavirus infection in the world exceeded 1.610 million people"

Despite the introduction of quarantine measures, the virus also entered the territory of the Lugansk region. The first infected person returned from a country with an unfavorable epidemic situation, others were working in Russia. Not everyone observed the regime of self-isolation, which put their loved ones at risk. Therefore, every day cases of infection with coronavirus in Luhansk are increasing.

How many patients in Luhansk

As of April 10, 8 cases of the diseased were officially confirmed in the Luhansk Republic, more than 220 people are under observation. These people are under medical supervision. Many have come from neighboring countries where COVID-19 has peaked. Despite the fact that the authorities of the republic keep the situation under control, the number of infected people is growing daily.

Coronavirus in Luhansk is becoming the number one problem. Unfortunately, some media launch panicky information that there are no objective statistics and there are more infected people. Therefore, people who read the news more, follow the events in the world are concerned.

Quarantine measures in the city and region

On March 14, due to the threat of the spread of COVID-19, the head of the unrecognized republic, Leonid Pasechnik, announced a high alert regime. Although no cases of infection have yet been reported at this point, precautionary measures have already been taken.

First of all, residents of the region who arrived from countries with an unfavorable epidemic situation should report to the hotline of the Ministry of Health about their return, about the place and dates of their stay abroad. Also leave contact information and ensure self-isolation for up to 2 weeks.

 Quarantine measures prohibit:

  1. Entry of citizens with positive symptoms: signs of SARS, fever, cough. At all temporary checkpoints, doctors are constantly on duty to identify people with suspected coronavirus.
  2. Holding mass events and gatherings of more than 50 people.
  3. Transportation is partially restricted. There is a ban on rail, air and bus intercity and interregional passenger transportation.
  4. It is forbidden to visit parks, squares and zones. It is allowed to walk the animal near the house.
  5. You must wear a mask in public places.

“Representatives of all age categories can become infected with a new coronavirus (2019-‎nCoV)”

In general, no strict quarantine measures have been introduced in Luhansk yet. Open entry and exit from the city. Grocery stores, pharmacies, banks operate in cities. Restricted or suspended the reception of visitors by such institutions as the Pension Fund, housing and communal services, the city council.

Much tougher restrictions were introduced in Krasny Luch and Antratsyt - the large cities of the "LNR".

Is it possible to take a test for coronavirus in the region

To date, Rospotrebnadzor of the Russian Federation has delivered the required volume of test systems to the region.

It is not yet possible to come and take a test for COVID-19 on your own. The decision to conduct the test is made by the doctor and gives a referral. Such a test can be taken by citizens arriving from countries where cases of the epidemic have been recorded, as well as those who have suspicious symptoms. You can take the test at the clinic at the place of residence. It is carried out free of charge.

Since April 3, a laboratory for research on the COVID-19 virus has been launched in Severodonetsk. The equipment was presented by the World Health Organization. To counter the spread of coronavirus, on April 8, the Severodonetsk substation handed over 30,000 rapid tests to ambulance teams and hospitals in the Luhansk region.

Only joint actions of the government, doctors and the citizens themselves can stop the epidemic. Do not be irresponsible about this problem. Observe proper hygiene and prevention measures!
