EU to allocate €232 million to fight coronavirus

One of the main news of the day is that the European Union wants to allocate about 200 million euros to combat Covid-2019. This course is due to a new outbreak of the disease. Of these, more than 100 million will be given to the World Health Organization, about 15 to partners, the remaining 100 will go to vaccine testing. Also, more than 3 million were allocated for the purchase of personal hygiene products.

This decision was announced during a press conference in Brussels on 24 February 2020. Janez Lenarcic spoke on behalf of the European Commission. He is Commissioner for Crisis Management.

The diplomat said that the European Union is extremely concerned about new outbreaks of the disease.
To date, the World Health Organization does not consider it necessary to take drastic measures.
For example, so far, no restrictions on trade and travel have been introduced. WHO specialists are due to travel to Italy one of these days to fully assess the current situation. The commissioner also spoke about the impact of the virus on the economic side. According to him, new outbreaks of the disease have an extremely negative impact on the EU economy. At the same time, the diplomat refused to give specific figures.
