At the end of last year, the authorities of the Republic of China announced the appearance of an unknown virus. Its causative agent is a new type of coronavirus. According to the WHO classification, the disease is called Covid-19.
The other day, Chinese Ambassador Zhang Hanhui made the following statement at a press conference in Moscow. He said that a vaccine against the disease is being developed and spoke about the results of the experiments. It is quite effective in use, but needs to be improved. The Ambassador also thanked Russia for its support and willingness to cooperate.
The very first vaccines against the disease were tested in the middle of this month. They were carried out on experimental animals. Human trials are planned for April, according to the vice-president of the National Health Committee of the People's Republic of China.
To date, the coronavirus has swept many countries. Italy suffered the most. In order to stop the spread of the virus, the Government of the Russian Federation has banned entry to Chinese residents, and visas have been frozen. Air travel is temporarily suspended, and there is also no rail connection with China.
