Kaliningrad region is the top 1 in the growth rate of the number of patients with coronavirus in the North-West of the country

The coronavirus continues to sweep our planet, claiming more and more lives every day. Since March 30, a self-isolation regime has been declared in the country. Quarantine in Kaliningrad, of course, was also introduced. As of May 1, the region leads the sad ranking of the fastest growing regions of the Northwestern Federal District in terms of the number of people infected with a new coronavirus infection. We will talk more about the current state of affairs in the region in this article.

Goals of quarantine due to coronavirus

In early April, President Vladimir Putin said that the peak of the infection had not yet passed in the country. According to him, during this period, citizens need to do everything possible to make this peak as painless as possible, as well as reduce the time it takes to pass through the “plateau” - the period when the number of new infected per day remains unchanged. Reducing the growth in the number of new infections is the main goal of quarantine in the Kaliningrad region for coronavirus.

During this period, it is necessary to minimize any movement around the city, and, if possible, to exclude them altogether. Authorities recommend leaving the house no more than 2-3 times a week for food or medicine, armed with a mask and gloves. Upon returning home, you should immediately disinfect your hands with antiseptics.

Those families whose children have signs of respiratory diseases, or whose relatives arrived from abroad or other regions within a period of up to two weeks, will be denied. The Government of the region emphasized that it is not required to obtain a preliminary health certificate for a preschooler in hospitals.
