The situation in Arkhangelsk with quarantine

Coronavirus is a viral disease that is rapidly developing around the world. In Pomorie, 24 cases of infection were registered as of April 11. Rospotrebnadzor provides information that at this time one patient has already been cured and discharged from the hospital.

Goals of quarantine due to coronavirus

Coronavirus is a viral disease that is transmitted by airborne droplets or contact. The symptoms of the disease are similar to those of an acute viral respiratory disease, so it is often diagnosed out of time.

There is no cure or vaccine for coronavirus infection. That is why the best method of preventing pathology is to exclude the possibility of contact between people. Quarantine in Arkhangelsk was introduced to prevent the spread of the disease in the region.

What restrictions are in place in the city?

Quarantine provides for the introduction of a number of restrictions that all residents of Arkhangelsk must adhere to. The city has introduced a regime of complete self-isolation, according to which it is forbidden for absolutely all people to leave their homes. There are a number of exceptions when a person can leave their own home:

  • If a citizen needs to receive emergency medical care, then he is allowed to leave the house.
  • If there is another direct threat to life, movement around the city is allowed.
  • In Arkhangelsk, people who work in services that ensure the life of the city during the quarantine period can walk.

During self-isolation, residents can go to pharmacies and shops that are located as close as possible to their place of residence. In accordance with the decree, dogs are allowed to walk within a radius of one hundred meters from the house. Children can walk on the street with one of the parents only if there is no contact with strangers. Removal to municipal waste containers is allowed. Walking around the city is allowed only in a medical mask.

Medical institutions, civil defense authorities, consumer protection authorities, law enforcement agencies, pharmacies, grocery stores, as well as retail outlets selling essential goods operate on the territory of the city. Thanks to these organizations, the protection of the life and health of citizens, the fight against crime, and public order are ensured. All employees of such organizations have certificates allowing them to move around the streets of Arkhangelsk.

Cultural, sports, educational mass events are strictly prohibited in the region. Sports and other sections, as well as organizations of additional education, have temporarily suspended their work. Public catering organizations, shopping and entertainment centers, museums, cinemas do not accept visitors.

Organizations that, due to the prevailing circumstances, are forced to continue their activities, must conduct regular disinfection of the premises. Their employees are advised to follow the rules of personal hygiene. They must wear medical masks and disinfect their hands.

People who come from other regions or from abroad should call the hotline and report this, as well as leave their details. If a person has symptoms of an acute viral respiratory disease, then they are strictly forbidden to visit the medical center. This is due to the fact that the risk of infection of strangers increases. When symptoms of coronavirus appear, it is recommended to call a doctor at home. The specialist examines the patient and takes an anamnesis. If the doctor suspects a coronavirus, he will prescribe an analysis.

When will quarantine be lifted in Arkhangelsk?

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, quarantine in Arkhangelsk and other regions of the country will last until April 24. If the number of cases drops to a safe level, then it will be removed on that day. Otherwise, the lockdown will be extended.

Features of education during the quarantine period

Initially, in Arkhangelsk and the region, as in other regions of Russia, spring holidays were extended until April 5.
During this period, the children rested. There was no training. On April 1, quarantine was introduced in Arkhangelsk schools. It consists of distance learning for children.

Schoolchildren receive homework and new topics, which they must study on their own, in social networks. They can also find it on the school website. If there are difficulties in learning, the student can contact the teacher by phone or via the Internet.

Coronavirus is a dangerous disease, therefore, quarantine was introduced in Arkhangelsk to prevent its spread among the inhabitants of the region.
