As part of countering the spread of an acute respiratory disease caused by covid-19, the Cheboksary authorities organized an operational headquarters, whose work is aimed at restricting the import and export of people from the city, monitoring the situation and taking a number of administrative measures.

The work of television channels aimed at asking citizens not to leave their homes has been strengthened. Work was carried out with district administrations, chairmen of housing and communal services, TOS and other authorized persons to look after citizens who arrived from abroad and regions. An algorithm has been defined by which the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rospotrebnadzor, the Ministry of Health and a number of other government agencies are called upon to act in order to monitor citizens' compliance with mandatory home self-isolation.

According to Chinese experience, if tough measures are introduced, it is possible to cope with the coronavirus in three months. The documents that have already been prepared by the government predict that the epidemic will disappear by the beginning of the summer season with a more stringent development of the scenario for combating violators.

Today, the government is holding a consultation with leading doctors on the extension of quarantine measures. According to the head of the Ministry of Health and the head of state, Russia is only in the middle of the spread of a viral infection. Experts say that the coronavirus in Cheboksary will continue, the number of infected will increase for a short time, and then decline. The measures taken and self-isolation can contribute to this. The chief epidemiologist said that the quarantine could be extended because the disease will subside in May. The virus will finally disappear closer to the hot summer season, since it does not survive in the warm season.
