What is known about quarantine in Samara due to coronavirus
The scenario for the development of COVID-19 looks optimistic. As of April 10, 2020, no cases have been reported. To date, the number of cases in the Samara region is 18 people, of which 10 people have recovered. The regional authorities plan to introduce mitigating measures for residents.
On April 2, 2020, the President of Russia, in his address to the nation, gave the governors the authority to independently decide for how long to extend the regime of complete self-isolation. Taking into account the positive dynamics with the pandemic in the Samara region, Governor Vladimir Azarov has extended the regime of complete isolation until April 12, and from April 4 a number of enterprises in the region began to work. This regulation does not apply to risk groups and people over sixty-five years of age. They will need to stay at home until April 30¹.
Decree of the Governor of the Samara Region No. 70 dated April 3, 2020 “On restrictive and other measures to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population in connection with the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the Samara Region”.
Educational institutions
All educational institutions of primary, secondary and higher education in the region are closed and transferred to the distance learning system. Quarantine in schools in Samara, as well as throughout Russia, coincided with school holidays, which began on March 23 and were extended until April 12.
Higher educational institutions of the region began working in the distance learning mode from March 19. Preschool institutions accept only children whose parents continue to work on their written application. If there are any signs of SARS, sneezing, sore throat or fever, the child is not accepted to kindergarten.
Which enterprises and entrepreneurs are forced to suspend their activities
Until April 12, discos, entertainment centers, nightclubs, theaters, cinemas, water parks, playgrounds, and other crowded places do not function. It is forbidden to visit hospitals providing inpatient care, only in case of urgent need.
Cafes, bars, eateries, restaurants, canteens and other food outlets are closed. These organizations are only allowed to deliver food to homes.
The work of trade enterprises has been suspended, except for food and essential goods stores, as well as pharmacies. These measures do not apply to communication service organizations.
Who keeps working
Since April 4, a number of agricultural and forestry enterprises, fish farming, auto repair shops, design and construction organizations have returned to work. It is allowed to operate enterprises for the maintenance and repair of medical equipment, Internet technologies and communications, insurance companies, social security organizations, maintenance of buildings and structures, veterinary stations, clinics and animal shelters. The management of operating companies needs to ensure a minimum number of staff, provide all options for protection against a pandemic in compliance with the standards of the chief sanitary doctor and Rospotrebnadzor.
Pharmacies and organizations providing essential goods and groceries continue to operate. Everyone is allowed to work remotely.
The entire government of the Samara region continues its work to ensure chains of interaction with all enterprises and the population. The police are monitoring the population on emergency alert.
Will quarantine be extended in Samara
At the moment, the regional authorities do not plan to extend the coronavirus quarantine in Samara, however, the local population has a reasonable fear that the decision to end quarantine from April 12 is premature. First of all, because Russia has not yet passed the main peak of the pandemic, which is expected within the next two to three weeks.
The absence of cases in recent days is a fortunate coincidence, and the virus can still manifest itself. We can only hope that in the near future we will not hear in the federal and regional news: "Samara was closed for quarantine due to an increase in the number of diseases."
How is the educational process in Samara during the quarantine period
Quarantine in the Samara region led to the fact that schools, colleges, technical schools and higher educational institutions were forced to switch to distance learning. The educational process is built as competently as possible and easy to use. Children study at home.
Teachers conduct lessons or lectures via the Internet via Skype, WatsApp, Zoom. All-Russian educational portals have been introduced, which are used by all students in the country. Teachers send assignments to children, and after completion they are checked. Since online education in Russian schools began only a week ago, there are some errors in the work: weak connection, congestion of portals, and others.
How to find a job in Samara during the coronavirus period
Now finding a job in Samara due to the coronavirus pandemic has become quite a challenge, given the entire economic situation in the country and in the world. But this is no reason to despair. The best option is to look for a job remotely.
Potential employees need to track vacancies on well-known sites and send out their resume, responding to an interesting job or employer directly. In Samara, there is a hotline of the Employment Center for employment issues: (846) 254-07-76. Similar services for informing the population on work issues are provided in each locality of the Samara region.
Goals of quarantine due to coronavirus
Currently, full quarantine has not been introduced in Samara, but a self-isolation regime has been introduced. In the case of illness, the coronavirus greatly weakens the protective functions of the body. The virus itself is not fatal, but it weakens the immune system so much that other diseases begin to progress.
It is especially dangerous for the elderly and those suffering from chronic diseases: oncology, obesity, coronary heart disease, hepatitis, pancreatitis, hypertension, diabetes mellitus. As a rule, a person dies not from a coronavirus, but from an exacerbation of a chronic disease. Therefore, the authorities of Samara and the entire Samara region have introduced a regime of emergency readiness to confront this disease in order to stop the mass infection of citizens.
