In the Republic of Bashkortostan, the number of people infected with coronavirus is increasing every day. Sterlitamak was no exception. Six days ago, the main infectious diseases hospital was closed in the city, due to the fact that one of the patients was infected with the coronavirus. For two weeks, both doctors and their wards were in complete isolation. In Bashkiria, the Republican Clinical Hospital was also closed due to a similar reason.
How many people infected with coronavirus are in Sterlitamak
As of April 15, 2020, 3 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been officially registered in Sterlitamak. At the same time, several hundred residents of the city, who recently returned from abroad, are in complete isolation. They are considered potential carriers of the coronavirus. Another 340 people are under suspicion of coronavirus in Sterlitamak, whose diagnosis has not yet been definitely established. Therefore, the authorities are asked not to leave the house once again, as well as to keep a distance on the street and in stores.
Where will coronavirus patients be treated?
It is assumed that the quarantined city clinical hospital No. 1 will later be converted into a hospital for those infected with COVID-19. The third patient from Sterlitamak was redirected to the Ufa city hospital.
It is planned that if the newly-made hospital cannot cope with the load, they will be treated for coronavirus in Salavat and Ishimbay, in the corresponding infectious diseases departments. The regime is planned to be extended until the end of the pandemic if a steady decline in the number of cases is not recorded. On the border of Bashkortostan and the Chelyabinsk region, it is planned to open two additional observatories, especially for patients with COVID-19.
Goals of the introduction of quarantine
Quarantine in Sterlitamak is introduced in order to reduce the increase in the number of cases. Unfortunately, the sad example of Italy and the United States confirms that if severe restrictions are not introduced in time, the disease spreads very quickly. This is due to the fact that coronavirus is easily transmitted by airborne droplets. During the pandemic, any gatherings of people are absolutely contraindicated, including in public places: at bus stops, in parks, concert halls, and shops.
People over 60 are most susceptible to the disease, so they are advised to stay at home. In addition, Easter is planned to be celebrated soon - in order to distance coronavirus patients from healthy people as much as possible, it is recommended to listen to worship services online.
List of restrictive measures in connection with quarantine
On March 31, the city introduced a full isolation regime. The peak of the disease is expected for Orthodox Easter, so the lifting of quarantine should not be expected for at least the next two weeks. The authorities banned any idle movement on the streets, including:
- walks in parks, forest park areas;
- use of playgrounds and sports grounds;
- pensioners are forbidden to go out - food must be delivered by relatives or volunteers;
- schools and universities are closed;
- the opening hours of museums and exhibitions are limited;
- beauty salons, gyms, swimming pools are in temporary quarantine;
- It is not recommended to enter any establishments without masks.
Mikhail Mishustin's order was published, in which he ordered the suspension of the all-Russian medical examination of the population. With this measure, he will facilitate the work of polyclinics in a tense situation, in addition, healthy people can stay at home.
If a person feels the first signs of coronavirus, including fever, cough, weakness, headache, it is recommended to call an ambulance team at home. Doctors are aware of what to do in emergency situations, and in this way you can save as many people as possible from infection. You should not go to clinics with symptoms of COVID-19.
In addition, citizens who have returned from abroad are in complete isolation. They are prohibited from any movement on the streets, even if they are heading to a store or pharmacy. You can order home delivery by special telephone numbers of social assistance services, or ask volunteers to purchase the necessary products.
Gradually, restrictions are being introduced on transport links between cities. Almost completely blocked charter flights. Businesses have been encouraged to telecommute their employees whenever possible. Be sure to work remotely for people with such chronic diseases: asthma, diabetes, as well as cancer patients. Those who have recently had a heart attack or stroke are also at risk.
Schoolchildren have canceled travel and social cards so that they stay at home. A child under 14 cannot be outside without an escort. All training and educational activities are conducted remotely.
Thus, rather tough measures have been taken in Sterlitamak for the safety of residents. It remains to be hoped that the increase in the number of cases will stop in the near future. To do this, citizens must carefully comply with all instructions and not violate quarantine. We remind you that administrative and criminal liability is provided for violation of the epidemiological regime.
