Who would have thought that the epidemic of coronavirus (COVID-19) from the moment the first cases of infection were recorded, after 3-4 months, would overwhelm the whole world and reach the most little-known corners of the planet. Now every inhabitant of the Earth knows what kind of disease this is, and everyone understands that it can affect everyone. Russia is a country that compares favorably with its ability to survive in critical conditions from the same Europe or the USA. Our people are more adapted to any changes in the situation and are able to quickly respond to force majeure circumstances.
Each resident of the country monitors the situation with the pandemic in his city or town. The situation with the spread of the epidemic in Taganrog is no exception. As a result, the population has a question: “Is there already a coronavirus in Taganrog itself?”.
Are there any patients with coronavirus in Taganrog
Located on the shores of the Sea of Azov, Taganrog is the closest city to the capital of the Southern Federal District and the Rostov Region, Rostov-on-Don. Coronavirus in Taganrog has not yet manifested itself.
However, there is a high probability of the epidemic spreading in this city and nearby villages, since about thirty percent of the working population commute daily to work in Rostov-on-Don. However, according to the city administration, no coronavirus cases have been recorded in Taganrog to date.
At the moment, the city has a hotline for coronavirus infection: 8-800-201-33-40. Operators around the clock answer questions from residents.

Where to get tested for coronavirus in Taganrog
Residents of the city are worried about the question: "Where to take the test for coronavirus?". Since the country’s capabilities are currently limited, a coronavirus test in a state laboratory can only be taken with a doctor’s referral. This document is issued in case of detection of signs of illness and high temperature. After that, the analyzes are sent to one of the centers for combating COVID-19 in Russia, which are Moscow, St. Petersburg and others.
Citizens who have recently returned from abroad are required to take this test and are required to be in quarantine for fourteen days. Categories that are also required to be tested for coronavirus are:
- patients with pneumonia;
- everyone who has been in contact with someone infected with COVID-19;
- senior citizens over 65 years of age, in case of detection of signs of fever, difficulty breathing and aching muscles and joints;
- employees of institutions of a closed type: boarding schools, cadet corps and others when symptoms of the disease appear;
- medical personnel who have constant contact with patients, including patients with coronavirus.
Since there is a significant increase in the incidence of the pandemic, the Government has allowed voluntary tests to be carried out in private laboratories, of which there are currently only three in Russia: Medsi, Helix and Hemotest. A referral for testing is not required in this case. However, those wishing to be examined must not have any respiratory diseases, as well as their signs: sneezing, runny nose, sore throat or cough.
Despite the danger of the situation, the majority of Taganrog residents comply with all preventive measures to combat coronavirus infection, believe in the speedy passage of the peak of the incidence and return to normal life. After all, it's spring outside!
