Test results in hospitalized passengers
Back in January, at Pulkovo airport, a man was hospitalized with suspected new Chinese coronavirus. The patient arrived in Russia on a flight from Shanghai and, due to poor health, went to the medical center of the airport.
After being examined by a doctor, the passenger was transferred to a specialized institution in St. Petersburg. Where he received medical care and was tested for the presence of coronavirus in the body. The test results were negative, the disease was not detected.
A Chinese citizen was also hospitalized from this flight, with similar symptoms. But doctors confirmed that the patient was infected with a common cold.
To date, the Russian Ministry of Health has developed an express test to detect 2019-ncov. It allows you to detect the presence of the virus within half an hour.
Pulkovo takes special preventive measures
Pulkovo Airport is under special control of the authorities that control the spread of the pandemic. For the full-fledged work of protective mechanisms, a special headquarters was created that regulates the situation at the airport.
Each aircraft that arrives at Pulkovo from areas where the coronavirus is rampant undergoes a series of sanitization procedures.
Particular attention is paid to the airport premises. Several times a day, a thorough cleaning is carried out using disinfectants. Particularly thorough disinfection is carried out for such objects:
- elevators
- rest rooms for staff
- information racks
- inspection zones
- offices
- ladders
- buses transporting passengers
The necessary checks of the ventilation systems in the room were carried out. For areas in which passengers stay for a long time, cleaning plants have been installed. They disinfect the air.
Information work is being carried out with airport personnel on the main preventive measures against coronavirus and the importance of using personal protective equipment.
Pulkovo employees are fully provided with protective masks, rubber gloves, antiseptics and wipes.
There is a first-aid post in the passenger terminal on the second floor around the clock. If the state of health deteriorates, each passenger or airport employee can apply for first aid.
The airport management adopted restrictions on holding any public events for employees. All meetings, meetings, conferences and other corporate communications have been transferred to telephone and online modes. Business trips are also prohibited not only abroad, but also in the regions.
