Residents do not panic, coronavirus has not been recorded in Ulan-Ude

The new 2019-nCoV virus is spreading rapidly around the world. Russia was no exception. As a result, the country has been quarantined. Every person who has any symptoms of the disease is carefully monitored. The other day, it became known about one more case of infection. Now the coronavirus is in Ulan-Ude.

How many people are infected in the city

On March 15, it became known that the Chinese virus in Ulan-Ude laid the first case in the region on a hospital bed. The day before, the medical service of the city hospitalized a man with suspected coronavirus. No information, including the identity of the patient, is disclosed. It is only known that the sick person was in contact with 36 people who are now under the supervision of specialists.

But a few hours later, the Ministry of Health of Buryatia provided information that the patient's test results were negative. And the diagnosis was not confirmed. Perhaps such a move by the regional government was aimed at preventing panic among the population, or perhaps the disease was not really detected.

How many people are on observation

Today, the authorities of Ulan-Ude announced that they are fully prepared to fight the coronavirus infection. Medical institutions still have not confirmed a single recorded case of the disease. Also, special comprehensive plans have been developed aimed at combating and preventing the pandemic.

Medical institutions are prepared to receive, isolate and treat patients. To date, suspected coronavirus in the region is present in 10 people who are hospitalized in the infectious diseases department. Two of them are Chinese citizens. The tests carried out confirmed the negative result.

Also, 146 new arrivals from areas infected with coronavirus are under observation. These people are in self-isolation, their health condition is monitored by specialists.

For violation of the observation regime, administrative penalties have been introduced. But if non-observance of the isolation regime led to the infection of other persons, then a criminal case is initiated.

Is there a panic in the city

Ulan-Ude is engulfed in panic. Due to a deadly disease, residents of the city exchange information on social networks about the dangers of using bananas in their diet. It is recommended to use only proven products for food, or to refuse them completely.

The city streets are empty. People without special need try not to leave the house. Extremely negative attitude towards persons who have the slightest signs of SARS. Pharmacies are stocking up on masks and antiseptics.

Most of all, people are afraid of the lack of vaccines and medicines for coronavirus, so everyone is trying to stock up on homeopathic medicines and vitamins. To somehow protect yourself.

The introduction of quarantine measures also caused a stir in the shops. Household chemicals, toilet paper, products with long shelf life are bought up by the population. Many store shelves are empty. Despite all this, Rospotrebnadzor assures that there are no reasons for panic in this region.

Protective measures in Ulan-Ude

Official sources and city authorities have not confirmed the outbreak of coronavirus. But no one is going to relax quarantine measures, but rather the opposite.

On March 16, a decree was adopted that prohibits mass sports, cultural and other similar events of any level. The decision was made for an indefinite period, the resumption will be restored only after the epidemiological situation in the region improves.

Prior to this, Ulan-Ude had a ban on holding events of up to 750 people. But in view of the current situation, Rospotrebnadzor is revising these figures, taking into account the risks arising from the pandemic. Therefore, it is not yet known what events will be mass events.

The main focus of the authorities is on the implementation of preventive and disinfection measures. Mandatory cleaning with the use of antiviral drugs, at least twice a day, has been introduced in public institutions, enterprises and organizations. Special requirements for:

  • Public catering
  • Pishcheblokov
  • Preschool
  • Schools
  • transport facilities
  • sports facilities
  • entertainment centers
  • Theaters
  • Cinemas

Organizations that educate children are required to check children for symptoms of SARS every day when they are admitted to an institution. If such a child has been recorded, then he should not be admitted to classes.

Residents of Ulan-Ude who arrived from countries where the pandemic is still raging are required to self-isolate for two weeks at home. At the first symptoms of the disease, it is necessary to seek medical help.

Every citizen should remember that the main preventive measures are washing and disinfecting hands, using protective masks, avoiding trips to disadvantaged areas and minimizing visits to crowded places. By following these simple rules, everyone will protect themselves from infection with the coronavirus.
